Personal Space- Space surrounding a person that is regarded as their own. In modern-day it is very difficult to hold personal space as on packed trains, buses or lifts it becomes very crowded and the person can feel discomfort with their space being broken. However, the interaction between good friends and family is comforting. Personal space can also be a private space that a person is familiar with, for example, your house or bedroom.

Domestic Space- This space is very similar to personal space as it to do with the persons private space in a household. Very much the opposite of public space.

Digital Space- The space that is displayed on a screen of a digital device such as a phone or a laptop. Digital space can be a very sociable space as there are platforms that many people can connect with over.

Are there consequences for our personhood and relationships with others in society, if we dwell in digital spaces? I believe if we dell too much in digital space it will affect how we interact with people in real-life settings. People may forget or not learn proper respect for people and good manners.

Social Space- Can be any areas that we meet people either to talk or play games with. Outdoor space like parks and then indoor spaces like restaurants can be social spaces as you are interacting with others.

Intimate Space- Distance ranges from touching to about to approx. 46 cm.

Institutional Space- An organization founded for a religious, educational, professional, or social purpose. These environments have social control over people as you need to behave a certain way within these organizations to show respect.

Gendered Space- Areas in which particular genders of people, and particular types of gender expression, are considered or appropriate, and other types are unwelcome or inappropriate. Some examples are gendered toilets and changing rooms. Those examples we know are obvious however, there is also places we genderise without saying, salons, sports bars and retail store where the male and female clothes with being separated in their own areas. If we look back in time we can see that 'spaces can be coded by society to fit the interests and needs of those in power.' An example is that women were looked on to be the housewife so the kitchen became a space for women.
