Current Window

This is a window designed by Marjan van Aubel that is made up from coloured solar cells that harvest energy from the sun and converts into electricity that can charge computer devices. The coloured cells are organically dyed and converts the sun into electricity by photosynthesis which plants use to produce energy.

In my opinion this design is ethical as it shows ethical significance and a responsible choice in way of tackling climate change and reusable sources. However, there can be a problem to this design. How do we know this is made up of sustainable materials for example, the dye used could fade or if the cells break in the colour and no longer produce energy will that be replaceable or would the owner have to get a new window, which all counteracts the initial design use. The design of the window could also cause some disagreements within communities as the stained glass is very bold with its colour and pattern which might be an eye sore in some areas.
